Jocelyn Norris and family
Donation protected
As many of you know, Jocelyn was diagnosed with a very rare condition in 2012 called pseudotumor cerebri. This condition essentially increases the pressure inside of the skull like a tumor would and causes intense pain with headaches and vision problems. After over a year of attempting several different medications with varying degrees of success and side effects, she decided to pursue a shunt. A shunt is placed in one of the ventricles of the brain and then drains excessive cerebrospinal fluid off the brain through a tube into the abdomen. She has had varying success with this treatment as well but on the 20th of October, Jocelyn experienced extreme abdominal pain and it was discovered that the tube from her shunt had perforated her colon, leading to a massive systemic infection, called sepsis. Sepsis is a very dangerous and life threatening infection, for these reasons she was transported to Harborview where she has been in the ICU on antibiotics, medications to keep her heart perfusing her body and organs, has had a surgery to remove the tube from her abdomen and will undergo further surgeries in the next week to revise her shunt. Clearly, this is a stressful and emotional time for Jocelyn, Josh, the girls and the rest of her family. Any contributions are appreciated, truly none are too small. Financial contributions are an effort to support the Norris family as they navigate medical bills, the time Josh has needed and will need to take off of work to be with Jocelyn, care for the girls and to relieve even just a little of the immense stress this experience has put on them. Know that it is never easy to ask for help and while Jocelyn and Josh were resistant, I know they have generous hearts and would and have helped others in a time of need. Let's pay it forward and support them. Additionally, if you want to help and can't contribute financially, a meal train will be set up for the Norris family once they return home (hopefully in a week, keep an eye out for that too!)![](https://2dbdd5116ffa30a49aa8-c03f075f8191fb4e60e74b907071aee8.ssl.cf1.rackcdn.com/6510967_1446084812.5244_funddescription.jpg)
