Asian communities have been hit with numerous amounts of violence towards our elders, especially in the Bay Area. Like most people, we all have probably watched the horrific videos over and over and felt the unbearable pain. Jimmy, better known to most people as @jaybsinghay on Instagram, decided to go out to Oakland to stand up to the violence and patrol the area on his own. He truly felt in his heart that he needed to walk the streets to try to make a difference. Even if his presence can help just one person from getting hurt, then he would be content. His brave and selfless act led him to an outpouring of support and appreciation on various social media platforms. So many people reached out to him to offer financial assistance. However, Jimmy declined. He said over and over, he’s not doing this for the money. He wants everyone to know he truly comes out to walk the streets to protect the community with his whole heart! Jimmy was deeply moved by a kid who reached out to him to thank him for patrolling the streets! The kid said, “he now feels safe.” Jimmy was and still is truly moved by everyone’s comments and kind words! Jimmy currently holds a full time job and devotes his time to patrol everyday after work. He commutes from the South Bay so it’s quite a distance. With all being said, I along with so many people have finally convinced Jimmy to accept a Go Fund Me page to help him stand up for what is right, to protect the Asian community. He sacrifices a lot of time, energy and effort to make it out to Oakland to patrol. I’ve created this Go Fund Me page on his behalf. Those who want to contribute to him and his team of volunteers can now do so. All donations will go to gas, food, and anything necessary for him and his team to walk this journey that they have chosen. On Jimmy’s behalf, he humbly accepts and appreciates all donations and support. Together we are stronger! Let’s end racism. Lets pray for more compassion and humanity.
