Rest In Peace Jay Shafer

Our dear Dad, Jay Shafer, was found deceased in his apartment on Tuesday 1/16 (on our mom’s heavenly birthday).

He was an Army veteran and will be honored a military funeral at Fort Snelling, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

However, our Dad did not have life insurance, and unfortunately the VA does not help with cremation services. We, his children, need time to coordinate the funeral and travel to MN. So, a cremation, rather than a burial, needs to take place to buy us time and prevent the county from stepping in and doing what they will with his remains.

We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of our dad’s cremation. 

We need to raise $1,500 by ASAP/Feb 1st.

We also want to give our dad the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. Any additional amount donated is much appreciated for help with traveling expenses and gathering family and friends together for a church service as well.
