Jay Stamos age 57, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 8, 2024, at South Strand Medical Center of a sudden cardiac event.
Born in Glen Cove, NY, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Jean Stamos. Jay was the founder of Positive Moves and worked many years at the Metropolitan Opera House as a stagehand where he enjoyed telling many stories about his days there. He loved motorcycles, guitars, and collecting Harley Davidson tee shirts, mugs, and vans sneakers. He loved helping people who were struggling with addiction and enjoyed watching internet cat videos, which his daughter Julia would send to him. Jay loved making milkshakes and had a knack for giving animals and people ridiculous nicknames. He loved Dunkin Donuts coffee and Empanadas and no matter how bad things got he always had a joke. Jay had a big heart and would always go the extra mile for anyone who needed help. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Nicole and Julia.
Survivors include his wife Shannon Stamos of Surfside Beach; sons, Michael Stamos of Myrtle Beach and James T. Stamos of Johnson City, TN; a stepdaughter, Violet Lane of Surfside Beach; brothers, Nick Stamos of MD, Mitch Stamos of PA and John Stamos of CA.
