Jaycees Life: A Trip to Remember
Donation protected
In 2019, Jaycee Amick was diagnosed with ATRT- brain cancer. . She was declared no evidence of disease and in remission. In 2021, Jaycee's cancer returned. This time, her cancer was terminal. For 3 years, her cancer has remained stable with no abnormal growth.
In November 2024, 16-year-old Jaycee and her family received the devastating news that her cancer has spread in an incredibly rare way. The new mass is located in her sacral area, meaning the bottom of her spine. It has also moved into her blood. Sacral ATRT.
After being hospitalized for the new mass, Jaycee has dealt with a UTI, sepsis, and E. coli. She had fluid on her lungs and has been put on intermittent oxygen. She has experienced disruptions to different bodily functions.
While the timeline is unknown currently, the doctors have begun discussing hospice care. Jaycee unfortunately no longer has any treatment options left, only comfort care. She can no longer receive any chemo or radiation.
So what am I asking from you?
Jaycee's last request that she has been begging her momma for is a trip to the Mall of America and Great Wolf Lodge.
As a mom, I can't imagine the pain and uncertainty that Jaycee's mom is currently feeling and know that this trip would allow them to have some happiness in the time they have, however long that may be.
This would also help add onto the money already raised previously for medical, treatment, and funeral funding for when the time comes.
If you can’t donate, please share with your friends. Any amount helps this family to have time spending the last of what they can with Jaycee without worrying about the cost.
The next few weeks, time with Jaycee is the most important. The memories we can create. No family deserves to go through the things they are. No child deserves what she is going through. She has fought cancer for so long and deserves to have some time where she can just be a kid.
Lets make this Christmas, a Christmas month to remember for the Amick family! ♥️
