Jayce's Legal Defense Against False Charges
Donation protected
Imagine what could happen if your ex-girlfriend lied to the police about you, resulting in your arrest on false charges and potentially ruining the rest of your life. Now imagine that, after finally finding the courage to move out of her apartment to escape months of abuse at her hands, you are tired, overwhelmed, scared, and stressed. You’re also autistic, and the police are grilling you about your ex's accusations.
Autistic people don’t communicate the way neurotypical people do, especially when under pressure. They often will freeze, dissociate, and do whatever they believe they must to keep the peace, even if that means their efforts to cooperate may be misinterpreted as an admission of guilt.
That’s exactly what happened to my dear friend, Jayce Price, whose vindictive ex-girlfriend called the police and told them lies that led to his arrest, detention, a terrifying and traumatic weekend in jail, and now to an uphill legal war to try to clear his name and avoid potentially disastrous consequences.
Jayce is a hardworking college graduate with no criminal history whatsoever. He has supportive friends and a loving family. He is innocent of the charges against him. No violence on Jayce’s part occurred that night, nor ever. He does not deserve to have his bright future ripped away from him by the vengeful actions of an abusive ex. The many people who love him do not deserve to suffer either.
Jayce needs new legal representation, as the attorney he is currently working with has little interest in “playing the autism card” (in his words) by enlisting the help of an autism advocate to help Jayce escape the nightmare he is in. Jayce has found a lawyer with 35 years of experience helping neurodivergent clients through their own nightmares. Jayce has a good job, but--like most 23-year-olds--is not prepared for a situation of this severity. He needs our help to afford an attorney who will aggressively advocate on Jayce's behalf. Can you help?
Jayce is a sensitive soul who writes and sings beautiful music. He is also an advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights and an asset to the community. Jayce has continued to work hard to pay forward the generosity he has received from his loved ones over the years, and has always behaved with integrity. He is kind, honest, and absolutely incapable of hurting anyone. Please donate what you can to help him afford competent defense against the unfair, untrue, and discriminatory allegations against him.
Thank you for taking the time to read Jayce’s story. Please share in your communities. We are grateful beyond measure for anything at all.
