Jayda Needs Our Help!!
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Our longtime friend Jayda McIntyre is fighting Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Graft-Versus-Host disease (GVHD). She’s been fighting the Leukemia for over a year, and as a result has developed GVHD. For those who don’t know, GVHD is a disease that can occur after a bone marrow transplant. It is the result of the body attacking the donors’ cells, and can be very mild or very severe. In Jayda’s case, it has been very severe, especially in her G.I, tract. In addition to her GI issues, her bones have become very weak. Along the way she has developed severe osteoporosis, which has caused several fractures to her vertebrae, and has made her mobility nearly impossible without assistance and painful. She is our strong, beautiful, funny friend, and we often refer to her as our “rock”. She never fails to have a smile on her face despite what she’s been through, and makes sure we have a smile on ours as well. Her struggle has not been an easy one, as covid makes it almost impossible for us to see her. Her mother and boyfriend are currently her only caregivers/ visitors allowed in the hospital. As the result of this long battle, we have run into some roadblocks. She is currently inpatient at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York, but we feel (along with numerous other doctors and nurses) that it is time for a 2nd opinion. We are asking for your support so this procedure is an easy one. Her family is in need of help for 2nd opinion costs not covered by insurance, new medications, travel costs, housing costs, etc. We want to make sure that she gets the proper care she deserves, and not put any unneeded stress on her family during this tough time. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR DONATIONS. IT MEANS MORE TO US THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE!!!!
