Jayden Prentice Fundraiser
Hi my name is Brenda McGuire, I'm Jayden's Auntie. His mom, Amanda, is my sister. We are a very close family and we are hurting. Amanda's two friends Sarah, Peyton and I are trying to raise funds to help support our family to stay close to Jayden while he's in the hospital for an extended period of time.
You see, Jayden is a good kid and is so loving and cares so much about others. He has a big family too. His father, older sister, younger sister and grandmother live in California. He has two older brothers and many nieces and nephews whom he dotes on constantly! My husband and I live in Virginia and take care of Jayden's Nana. Jayden's Papa and his wife Annie as well as his Uncle Jeff, Aunt Shawna and cousins Kayla and Lawson live in Lincoln. You see, we're all concerned for Jayden's health.
The evening of August 2, 2021 around 8 pm in the Edgewood Shopping Center parking lot, Jayden was shot once in the face by someone who didn't know him and didn't care about what a caring person he is. This person thoughtlessly shot poor Jayden in the cheek and it went into his neck (near his ear). He has shattered bones into his sinuses, ear, carotid artery and spine areas. He's on a ventilator and has to be sedated because he's so scared whenever he wakes up.
The good team of (20) doctors at the University of Omaha Medical Center are looking after our boy Jayden. They are running tests to see how they are going to remove bone fragments without further injuring him. All the while his mother and father will need to stay close through the many surgeries he will likely have (per his team of doctors). This will require lodging, food, and other expenses to be covered while they take time off work and maintain their homes while staying in Omaha for Jayden.
We are asking you for your help to lighten this burden from them while they tend to Jayden and make sure he heals. Please if you can give anything, it will mean the world to all of us. Thank you so much for your time, texts, FB messages, phone calls and love from afar. We know Jayden is a fighter, it's just going to take some time before he's his old self again.
