Jayden Sanchez Memorial Fund

On Sunday, our Team & Family suffered a great loss. Jayden Sanchez, founding 1st grader at IDEA Converse Academy, passed away suddenly in a tragic accident. He is already dearly missed by his loving family, teachers and peers.

Jayden was a loving big brother and a hard working student. He arrived every morning to school with his little brother in tow, dressed in perfect uniform - not a hair out of place - and ready to learn. Recently, he'd earned the coveted title of "Math Master" which he was especially proud of - excitedly bragging of his accomplishment to his parents and abuela.

He was especially loved by his teachers who worked so closely with him. Here's what they have to say about Jayden:

"Jayden was such a sweet soul, always kind and loved to help others. His smile always brightened up the room. He loved reading and gave his all every day. He was always proud to finish his work first. I loved being his reading teacher. Jayden will be truly missed by all his teachers and classmates." -Ms. Reyes, 1st Grade Reading

"Jayden was always quiet and focused during math class; but, get him around his friends and he came alive, laughing and playing around. Everyone just loved him -  teachers and scholars. My favorite memory of him is when Jayden was in my homeroom, he would always come in with Oreos that I would assume were for lunch, but nope he would sit right down and start eating them for breakfast! He just loved his Oreos!" -Mrs. Garza, 1st Grade Math

"Jayden was an amazing and funny kid. He was so excited about meeting Word Master status. Every day Jayden would ask me how many more tests to get there. He was always ready to help others. I loved having our 2-minute conversations. He always told me how beautiful my hair was every day. I loved being his teacher and I will miss him so much." -Ms. Suero Duran, AR/Hotspot Teacher

"Jayden was a funny boy with a beautiful heart. During lunch, he loved talking to those around him and made silly jokes. His laugh was contagious. He fostered a love for learning and it was evident in Reading class. I am lucky to have known him and see him throughout the school year. Jayden will be be missed dearly." - Mrs. Gutierrez, Assistant Principal of Instruction

To support the family as they grieve, our school community is raising funds for the family to apply toward funeral costs or other expenses the family has incurred in response to this tragedy. If you are able, please consider donating in support of the Sanchez family.

All funds collected will be given directly to the Sanchez family to support their needs during this time.
