Jaydon - In the Fight
Donation protected
My nephew, Jaydon, was diagnosed with kidney disease when he was 18 months old. He’s endured several procedures and surgeries over the years. He’s almost lost his battle with this disease several times. He is resilient and strong! His health bounced back - sometimes slower than he would like. He always has a great attitude and a ready smile, no matter how bad he is hurting.
In October, he was evaluated and went through another round of testing so that he could be put on the transplant list. Four days before his 18th birthday, he was FINALLY officially listed.
Stephanie, Jaydon’s mom, submitted a request to be the donor. She’s a match! She’s undergone all the testing. At this point, she will be the donor. She’s excited to be able to give her son this gift. But, there’s always the unknown.
They are planning the transplant later this summer. They are still unsure of the dates. There are a few more tests that need to be completed before anything can be scheduled.
Stephanie will be taking 6-8 weeks off work to be with Jaydon as they both recover from their surgeries. Medical bills are piling up, even with insurance. Jaydon will need to stay in Salt Lake City for at least 6 weeks while his medications and new kidney are monitored. The insurance has agreed to help with the hotel, but they won’t cover the entire amount and food would be up to the family. Compound that with the the lost wages, the family will be struggling to make ends meet.
As Stephanie’s sister, I’m assisting however I can. Any help would be appreciated.
Donations can also be made via paypal at [email redacted] or on Venmo at @Nicole-Keller-43505 Please label your donations with a note with Jaydon's name in it.
