Jay Kinsella is an admired and accomplished member of Edmonton's Trail Running Community; his stewardsgip of runners at all levels welcomes and encourages them to Think Big! Having started running within the last few years, he has achieved several top 5 finishing positions in the 'grand-daddy' of endurance running event distances - the 100 Miler and placed 4th overall in the Fat Dog 120 miler (considered Canada's answer to Hardrock100 with accumulated elevation gains topping that of Everest) !
This September, Jay (accompanied by his soon to be wife Jessica MacDonald) will be tackling a pinnacle running event - the Tahoe 200 mile race occuring over several days in rugged California backcountry terrain. Jay's committment and character are evident in the countless hours of preparation spent training on the trails and giving back to the community through charitable work such as "Turkeys on the Trail" Run ( co-lead with Jessica) benefiting the Edmonton Food Bank . Friends began to ask if there was some small way to offset the costs of nutrtional and equipment needs for training or reduce the travel/accomodation expenses for the event ... so the GoFundMe campaign was launched.
The Edmonton Trail Runners would like to challenge it's members and friends of Jay and Jessica to show their support . Run along side Jay and stand alongside Jessica in their Tahoe travels.
