Jayne is a passionate, outgoing 27-year old woman who has dedicated her career to helping others. She recently completed her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has launched an inspiring body positivity brand, Recovery Love & Care, focused on supporting women and men in eating disorder recovery and overall body empowerment. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her boyfriend Sean and her beloved fur babies Gio and Lilly. Jayne is our brave sister, and we hope you'll take a moment to read her story.
In July 2018, Jayne found herself in the ER with numbness in her face and severe pain in her upper body. Following multiple procedures, tests, and hospital visits, later she was admitted to the hospital with a severe, rare, and chronic neurological disorder brought on by increased cerebral spinal fluid that was causing her to go blind. She underwent brain surgery to relieve the pressure in her brain and spine, but after months of slow recovery she was still in constant, chronic pain. Based on the recommendations of her surgeon and medical team, Jayne and her family petitioned her insurance company to attend the Mayo Clinic for a proper diagnosis. After two weeks at Mayo and a battery of tests and doctors appointments, Jayne was diagnosed with a complex pain disorder and a chronic neurological disorder and prescribed an intense therapy regimen over the next 1-3 years with the ultimate goal of hopefully alleviating the constant pain and returning to a "new normal".
This diagnosis brings with it significant medical expenses that are building quickly. As Jayne’s sisters, we are beyond grateful for any help you can provide to ease this financial burden.
