Jaynee Carolus Memorial Field

Jaynee Carolus was a native of Mifflin County who played and coached softball, both fast pitch and slow pitch, for 45 years. She also kept score for the local high school teams until 2013 when health issues limited her ability to travel.  She was always a big fan of MC Athletics and enjoyed both high school and collegiate sports.
 
Jaynee taught and coached in the Mifflin County School District for 35 years.  After retirement, she continued to substitute teach and help with the Life Skill students in the MCSD.  She sponsored a Lake Raystown Bald Eagle Cruise for Mifflin County’s Life Skills students for 12 years.  Her philosophy in life had always been to “practice random acts of kindness”, which she did throughout her life.  Upon her death, she said, “she would like for everyone to be nice to someone each day, both the young and old alike, for the young are our future and the old our heritage.”
 
Jaynee was always a long-time proponent of women’s athletics.  She fought for equal treatment and opportunities for female athletes throughout her career.  Jaynee touched the lives of athletes everywhere.  She had a profound passion for athletics and had always been one of Mifflin County’s biggest fans across all sports.  It would be a honor to name the Softball Field after someone who dedicated her life to helping others and was so dedicated to Mifflin County.
