Jaysen Ishida 2020

Jaysen Ishida, born and raised in Hawaii training under Coach Brian McCutchen and his team Oahu Taekwondo Center (OTC) located in Aiea, Hawaii.  He is currently ranked #16 in the -80kg Olympic Division. Currently residing in California, Jaysen trains alongside with Jensen Ishida, Richard Lee, Luis Reyes (Kings Combat Sports), and Scott Fuji and Simona Hradil from FightXP. 

Jaysen has been practicing Taekwondo from the young age of 4 years old, and is now 26 years old chasing the dream for the Tokyo 2020 USA Olympic Team Spot. We are getting closer to the date and Jaysen has been busy all year long training hard and competing to rack up points towards his olympic ranking.

Throughout the year of 2018, Jaysen has competed in over 10 international tournaments including 4 of the World Taekwondo’s Grand Prix series. Jaysen has been kept on his feet competing and traveling at least once a month this whole year. 

In a few weeks, Jaysen will soon be heading to the 2018 World Taekwondo Grand-Prix Final in Dubai to close out the year as well as begin a very essential year ahead of him for 2019. 

Unfortunately, many of these tournaments that he attends are not funded. BUT With BIG thanks to his support from his parents, Jet Ishida, family & friends he is able to attend these tournaments!
