I was let go from my job in Spring 2019 due to my mental health decline's effect on my work performance. I've searched for subsequent work with no success, & have been denied help via rental assistance organizations and SSI for disability for my major depressive disorder. Being unemployable and medically exempt from work via NYC HRA means having no income, and so I fell behind numerous months on my rent. After being issued written demands for outstanding rent, I was served with housing court papers for nonpayment on outstanding rent in February 2020.
I've updated the original ask amount to $6000 to cover the eight months owed ($4400) and whatever fees I'm given by the Bronx Civil Court, plus a bit extra to help with future rent and housing needs.
