I'm Joseph Bell, a proud queer voice hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne. My journey into the world of music formally began with a degree in Popular Music, but that same year, life threw a curveball at me. I was diagnosed with a rare condition that led to a significant loss of hearing in my left ear, and to compound the challenge, I experienced multiple ruptured eardrums in my right ear. It felt like a cruel joke; the very essence of my passion and career, music, seemed to be slipping through my fingers. I was on the brink of giving up, convinced that music and I were parting ways forever.

However, the years that followed were filled with introspection, doubt, and a whirlwind of emotions—sadness, grief, but most importantly, hope. Through this tumultuous journey, I discovered that my story was not just mine to keep but one that needed to be shared. Influenced by the soulful vocals of Luther Vandross, the imaginative songwriting of Kate Bush, and the production style of Jessie Ware, I found my unique sound. My music is a fusion of house, soul, and synth pop, a testament to my personal and artistic evolution.

This journey taught me resilience and the importance of sharing our stories, no matter how difficult they may seem. My music is not just an expression of my creativity but a narrative of overcoming, evolving, and uniting diverse influences to create something truly unique. Join me on this continuous journey of discovery and expression, where each note and lyric is a step towards healing and celebration.

I'm on a shoestring budget, but I've got a dream and a little bit of savings to kickstart my EP. To bring it to life, I need your awesome support. I am going to be going into the studio and want to get brass and strings into this new EP. Talented musicians - rightly so - cost money!
