JB Basketball Academy is a free program that was created for all ages ranging from 5-20 years old in which I teach strong basic fundamentals and footwork to help your son or daughter develope into a better basketball player and have great sportsmanship in respect to the sport.
My name is Jamar Bohannon and I am a native of Colorado, I have lived in Aurora, Colorado all my life. I was blessed with two amazing parents that raised me to be who I am today. I played high school basketball at Aurora Central and transferred from there to Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA. Played two years of junior college and transferred to Metro State Collgege of Denver all on full ride scholarships. Basketball has been apart of my life since I was 5 years old. Basketball saved me from making terrible decisions that could of sent my life in a different direction. This free program allows me to build relationships, develop players and mentor kids of all ages to prepare them for there direction in life. So it is my responsibility and duty to give back to youth basketball not only in Colorado but all over the country.
All trainings are held in the evenings and early morning on the weekends around the same time young kids or teens are vulnerable or prone to making tough decisions that tend to lead them in the wrong direction. My goal is to keep them focused, positive and determined to reach there goals. I make it a strong point to build a relationship with each and every kid.
My overal vision and goal is to keep this program free and available for all the local youth and expand by including leagues, tournaments, guest speakers and travel to other states to compete. Any donation amount will be very helpful there is no gift to small. Thank you for your time and investment in the lives of our youth.
