On May 12-14, 2017, the John B. Kelly Knights Chess Team will be travelling from Philadelphia,Pa to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the Supernationals IV. This world class event comes once every four years and these four youngsters have been working hard to sieze the opportunity to take on some of the best chess talent there is.
Since October, these scholars have transformed into bona fide chess competitors. They were a force in the Philadelphia Scholastic Chess League, placed fourth in the Pennsylvania State Chess Federation Championship and have racked up other individual accolades along the way.
The most fitting end to this school year's chess story would be for these teammates to get the opportunity to travel to Nashville, compete against the best there are, tour a university and participate in an experience that they will remember for a life time.
Please, contribute what you can to the $2000 goal to help with the cost of player hotel stay, gameday nourishment and travel expenses.
