My name is Ashley Dodd, my mother Karen Mazurkiewicz has lived in Waller Texas for 41 years. She is married to my father Ronnie Mazurkiewicz going on 32 years in February, she has 2 children she thinks the world of, and 1 grandson that is the light of her life.
For the past couple of years she has been in and out of Doctors Offices for numerous surgeries. In October 2015 she was diagnosed with Sclerosing Mesenteric Pannicultis and confirmed through a biopsy in December 2015. Since 1924 there have been less than 150 people diagnosed. Less than 1% of all Americans, there are only 6 people in the state of Texas.
Her oncologist does not know how to treat this disease and has insisted she go to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota in April 2016. Upon speaking to the staff at the Mayo Clinic they informed her she would have to stay for 2-3 weeks. They were not prepared for the extended stay. After calling and trying to book their flight, hotel rooms, rental car, and treatments they were a little overwhelmed.
For those of you that know my mother she is an independent person whom does not ask for much from others, she is a very generous person
and has the biggest heart that I have ever found in anyone. I insisted as well as others to make this page. Any donations are greatly appreciated towards her journey against this rare disease. Thank you so much for your support. God Bless.
