JBST Fundraiser
Donation protected
The money raised is to help pay for the entry for 10 boys and 10 girls to compete in the 1st Annual Lake Michigan Cup which will be held at Spectrum Lanes in Michigan the last weekend of June representing the JBST tour. They will be competing against bowlers from three other tours representing the MJMA tour of Michigan, the NWIJTPA tour of Indiana and the ISST tour of Illinois. Our goal is to raise $3,500 between this GoFundMe page and the other fundraisers to help pay for their entry so the bowlers will only have to pay for their travel expenses. The $3,500 entry fee will pay for the lineage, the awards, the scholarships, team shirts, programs, and other incidentals for the bowlers. The more money we raise the less of an entry the bowlers have to pay.
The Lake Michigan Cup will have bowlers from each of the 4 tours competing in a "Ryder Cup" style scoring system with multiple bowling formats. Points will be awarded to teams that win their matches. The two tours / teams with the highest overall points will battle for the Lake Michigan Cup in a best of 7 match. Some of the different formats that will be used include 5 person team baker matches, 3 person team baker matches, doubles, mixed doubles, and singles matches. Besides the battle for the Lake Michigan Cup, the JBST bowlers will be competing against the other tours for other cups. The Willinois Cup (JBST v. ISST from Illinois) and the Cross Lake Cup (JBST v. MJMA from Michigan).
The JBST tour will be selecting their 20 bowlers based upon the points they have earned and the top averages based upon at least 3 bowled during the season. The bowlers chosen will be youth sanctioned whose birthday is after August 1, 1996.
The JBST tour started in October 2006 and has awarded almost $374,000 in scholarships. In the 12 years we have had over 160 events, over 10,000 entries, and over 1,700 bowlers bowl in our events. So far this season we have had 8 events, over 800 entries, awarded over $28,000 in scholarships and awarded 91 Junior Gold spots.
