Bone Marrow Transplant - Jon Wacker

A few years ago Jon was diagnosed with T Cell Lymphoblastic Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, which is aggressive but treatable. The initial chemotherapy treatments were intense but successfully reduced the tumor. Hopeful that the cancer would remain in remission, Jon completed the 8 rounds of chemo and subsequent 2 year maintenance which was recommended.

Earlier this year there was a recurrence. Chemotherapy treatments resumed to get the disease back in remission and  to move forward with a needed bone marrow transplant. Fortunately, remission was accomplished and Jon passed the necessary tests making him eligible for the transplant at the Mayo Clinic. 

The transplant involves harvesting of stem cells, additional high-dose chemotherapy (BEAM) and ultimately, the transplant. The plan is for a start date of 5/23/19 at Mayo, depending on insurance approval. Jon is ready and will continue regular chemo treatments in the Minneapolis area until then.

Our goal is to assist with the out of pocket expenses by the end of this month, i.e., hotel rental for family members, quarantine room rental for Jon during the transplant procedure period and insurance co-pays.  To ensure success, CentiMark has agreed to match the amount we raise in this campaign!

While relief from some of the financial strain is our aim, Jon and his family also appreciate your prayers and encouragement.
