Ralmuto Family House Fire Fund

Christmas Day 2014 started out like every other year. Opening gifts, sipping on hot chocolate, and eating way too many sticky buns. We then headed out to spend the day at my Grammy's house like we do every year. Shortly after arriving, we received one of the worst calls we could have imagined. A neighbor was out for a walk and saw our house on fire. By the time we got there the fire department had already extinguished most of the flames, but the house was completely gone. The house where our family had lived and grown for nearly 20 years was reduced to a giant pile of ashes and a few bricks within minutes. I couldn't even begin to process what was happening at the time, but the more time that passes the more things are sinking in. Every hour that passes I am realizing more and more what we've lost. All of our baby pictures, my mom's wedding dress, pictures drawn by me and my siblings, everything. While this is absolutely devastating, we keep reminding ourselves that it was all just stuff. Silly, material STUFF. We are just praising God that we still have each and every pair of hands here on earth to hold and lift in praise.
A house can be rebuilt. Our home can never be taken away. Our home will always be alive and full of love whether it takes place inside big, beautiful walls, or a tiny camping trailer we can barely fit all of our toothbrushes in (which we HAVE done.... And we survived!!
