Hello Friends, Family, Well- Wisher's & Angels,

This is Jonathan's Miraculous Story

Proudly Sponsored by: Alpha Sigma Tau & National Business Capital (please scroll below to check out our sponsors website)

Fifteen years ago, Jonathan and his identical twin brother, Benjamin, were given a 10% chance of surviving a premature birth. Sadly, while Benjamin did not survive, Jonathan (AKA Jonny) beat the odds and miraculously did!  He progressed and persevered despite numerous and never-ending obstacles.

After many years of surgeries, extensive examinations, and medical treatments, Jonathan tries to live as “normal” a life as possible while continuing to face what some people politely call “challenges.”  One of the biggest challenges he continues to confront are serious, life-threatening surgeries.  Three summers ago, Jonny endured an 11-hour long spine operation (his 24th surgery to date) at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital - Columbia Presbyterian in New York City.

To further describe Jonny's condition, he is legally blind and uses a wheelchair and walker.  Jonathan has multiple congenital skeletal issues that surgeries have been unable to correct.  Although he’s told he’s brave for facing his challenges every day with a positive attitude, we like to think that he’s just being Jonathan – happy to be here to love everything that life has to offer!  He adores anything that lets him use his imagination to the fullest - reading books and writing short stories and poems, video games and science fiction, Dr. Who and Comic-Con.  His favorite book obsession is Harry Potter, and his biggest fans are his sister, Olivia and his brother, Owen!

Unfortunately, Jonathan’s orthopedic anomalies continue to perplex his surgical team and require ongoing innovative surgeries to improve his overall quality of life. His next round of surgeries is planned to correct an abnormal rib growth and protrusion from his abdomen, and spinal and pelvic rotation.

Every year, the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau - Marist College chooses one fundraiser that we feel strongly about.  We found out how important these surgeries are and what Jonathan continues to bravely endure.  As a lover of the Harry Potter books and movies, he has set his sights on the Harry Potter Warner Brothers Studio London Tour as a dream to look forward to while he recovers from his next surgery.

Alpha Sigma Tau - Delta Epsilon (AST) from Marist College and National Business Capital has decided to back this effort, full force.  We are doing everything in our power to assist our fellow sister, Olivia, and her family to raise as much money as possible to help Jonathan realize his dream and support him through his recovery.  We are respectfully asking for your help in order to surprise Jonathan and grant him his wish to visit the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London - The Making of Harry Potter.  Jonathan is an avid fan and lover of the Harry Potter book series.  His 25th surgery is scheduled for June 27, 2017 at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital - Columbia Presbyterian in New York City; we hope to achieve our goal to surprise him by June 1, 2017.

Jonathan is now a thriving high school sophomore in a school that helps him to truly succeed to the best of his potential.  He belongs to his school’s Writer’s Club and Video Gaming Club.  Jonathan has finally made some good friends this year, so much so that he actually challenged his surgeon and asked to delay his surgery date in order to finish his sophomore year with his friends.  Jonathan will be taking the summer of 2017 to heal and recover from a likely 12-hour surgery and hopes to visit Harry Potter as a celebration for surviving this incredible milestone of 25 surgeries.

AST and I (Liseth) started this GoFundMe page to help Jonny and his family through these difficult times.  We kindly ask you to donate to this beautiful and life-changing cause.  Please join us in supporting Jonathan’s amazing journey by donating today!
