In April, 2022 Megan heard the words “you have cervical cancer”. This has been a journey of ups and downs since then. We thought we would be done with all this after her hysterectomy last July, but more invasive cancer was discovered this May. Since the original diagnosis, she has undergone or is yet to finish:
- 4 surgeries
- 6 weeks of chemotherapy
- 25 external radiation sessions
- 5 internal radiation sessions
- CT scans, MRI scans, PET scans
- Countless appointments with our oncologist, radiologist, naturopath, and physical therapist
When you think of cancer, the first thing most people think of is the physical toll, and then the emotional toll. But the financial toll is another piece of this beast too and the medical bills are really starting to pile up.
Every step of the way our family has been blessed beyond measure by our community. We are so thankful for the friends and family who have stepped up to watch our kids, bring us a meal, provide gifts of healing and kindness, and check up on us. It truly takes a village to undergo something of this magnitude and we will be forever changed by all of it.
