Help Our Team Recover from Hurricane Helene

Please donate to help our team members cover their basic needs and get back on their feet!
Hurricane Helene has devastated our community in and around Asheville, NC, leaving 20 of our employees at Chemist Spirits unemployed and displaced. Our business remains closed indefinitely due to the city's damaged water system.
Our team is facing immense challenges:
- Unemployment: Without a functioning water system, many businesses are closed, leaving our team without income. The damage to the city's water system will likely take many weeks to repair.
- Displacement: Over half of our team has been forced to leave Asheville in search of essential services like electricity, water, and lodging, while still paying rent.
- Property Damage: Many of our team members have experienced totaled cars, flooded basements, and damaged homes. Some will have to find new housing due to the extent of the damage.
Despite a lack of income, power, water, and limited supplies such as gas and food, many of our team members still in Asheville are working hard to volunteer in support of their community, distributing clean water and food, sharing goods with one another, connecting people to resources, donating clothes, and performing wellness checks on victims that have been out of reach.
Unfortunately, government assistance is limited, and insurance claims are overwhelmed. Our team needs immediate support to cover basic needs and rebuild their lives.
Chemist Spirits as a company looks to support the community with clean water and facilitate the distribution of resources. We ask you to join us in supporting our team members during this difficult time.
USE OF FUNDS:
- 100% of funds will go directly to our employees
- Our goal is to offer 50-100% of their average weekly paycheck to each of them for each week until employment is back to normal.
- We will offer increased support for those who have damaged homes or vehicles in hopes of offsetting or fully covering those expenses.
- Your generosity will make a real difference.
These are photos our team members have shared with us these past few days.
I'm Philip, the team leader and manager of Antidote at Chemist Spirits. I live in Asheville and was fortunate to get access to the internet after the storm, and am working hard to create a strong support system for each member of our team.
