Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
On January 23rd of 2024, Jon Paul Hatch suffered a massive right ischemic stroke in a parking lot while picking up one of his children. He was rushed to the nearest hospital and then quickly transferred to a larger medical center for an emergency clot removal that was found in his brain. While the surgery was successful, the damage to his brain was significant. He was in the ICU for 2 weeks and was then transferred/currently at an Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital to receive intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
While the left side of his body is gaining some sensation, at this time, his left arm, leg, and left facial muscles are paralyzed as well as visual perception difficulties. At discharge, he will be in a wheelchair, unable to drive, and will also require a hospital bed to be moved into the home for at least 6 months along with other medical equipment necessary to his recovery.
To know “Pops” is to love him. He is first and foremost a man of God. He is a devoted husband, father of 9 children, and Pops to 2 granddaughters. He is a dedicated employee of a small town business as well as an avid outdoorsman. He is a servant to others and is always giving his whole heart into everything he does. He loves Jesus passionately and in this entire circumstance, he has held firm to his foundation that stands on Christ, reminding us all to do the same.
This money will be used for not only medical expenses but also home repairs, renovations for accessibility, meals for family, gas, bills, and other financial needs. After being a stay at home mom with all of the kids, his amazing wife Karas had just started nursing school full time at the University of Tyler and was set to graduate in December. She has had to take a medical leave from school and hopefully will be able to return in the future. Karas has not left his side however their kids have had to stay home with family and go back to school/work/etc which has been difficult for everyone. While donations will be a blessing, we most importantly ask that you join us in prayer for his recovery as well for his wife and children.
Thank you for the prayer, love, and support!
