IDF Lone Soldier Resched Surg 16Dec
Donation protected
JOSH HARRIS IDF LONE SOLDIER LASIX EYE SURGERY : Updated progress & scheduled surgery WED Dec 2, 2015:
First, I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, all who have so generously contributed on my behalf to have this needed eye surgery ... I am MORE than 1/2 way to the remaining amount needed and the surgery is scheduled for Wed 02 Dec2015... I am floored by the generosity of so many and am so humbled by these gifts to assist in correcting my eyesight ..
However, I must ask If there is anyone that can possibly help me, in the next day, (no matter how little it maybe, it all adds up...) and help me to have this surgery ... Every donation has been important & I will be forever grateful to each & everyone who has assisted in helping me get this done !
WHO I AM : My name is Josh Harris, from Virginia Beach Va, and made Aliyah (making me a dual citizen US-Israel) to Israel in Jan 2015 to serve in the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) as a Lone Soldier. Its been my utmost desire to serve & protect Israel since visiting in 2012, on my birthright trip.
I am a healthy, strong 23 yr old guy with huge love for both the USA & Israel. I, do however, feel it's part of what I am meant to do my part in helping to protect this beautiful country of Israel...
In Oct I was made aware there's only 1 obsticle that is keeping me from being a Special Forces IDF combat soldier ... And that is my extremely poor eyesight (without contacts). And, as one would imagine contacts aren't permitted as they can be problematic on so many levels that it's not possible for me to be a combat soldier without the LASIX Surgery. When i was informed in Oct at my final physical I was told it's imperative to be done ASAP / I was missing the Dec 2015 draft and with the surgery I would be ready to leave for boot camp training for the March 2016 draft ... There is a mandatory 90 day waiting period that any surgery must endure prior to drafting... These are the rules.
I will be forever grateful for any/all the help to have this happen & actually receive the surgery . This will be the biggest gift of my life and what I feel in my heart I can't even begin to express my gratitude which is beyond anything I have ever felt.
Whatever the amount, It all adds up to help me reach the amount remaining ...
I would like to thank everyone in advance for both reading this posting, understanding how much this means, and for the truly amazing gift which I will absolutely pay forward. That is my promise! That is my word!
