Chelsea (Parker) Ward Memorial Fund

Hello Friends:

Just ONEmonth ago today, we buried my dear sister- in -law Judy Parker who lost her battle with cancer, a vicious diease that also took her own daughter, Jennifer at age 25.

This week we are being tested again as we prepare to lay to rest Judy's granddaughter, Chelsea Elizabeth Parker Ward ( age 26) who passed away suddenly yesterday just 9 days after the birth of her own daughter who was named Parker Quinn.

While Judy was totally at peace with meeting her lord, she was so hopeful to be here just long enough to meet her great granddaughter, little Parker.  Judy was called home before she was born but we all took comfort in knowing  that Judy was looking down smiling  with that warm smile that only Judy knew how too give so effortlessly  and sending her loving arms down to wrap them around this sweet angel.

Chelsea had entered the hospital in labor and suffering from bronchitis but was given a C-Section once the Dr.  discovered that the umbilical cored had Parker trapped. She was born with some personal challenges to face as her skin was so burned looking and swollen that she was moved to a neighboring hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo as her Mom was left to heal in Poplar Bluff, Mo.  As you can imagine, it was a trying time for ourfamily as September, 6th should  have been a day of great joy instead of worry and concern for both mother and baby.

Through the grace of God, both Mom and baby were joined together again this last Tuesday and we thought we were home free. Unfortunately, Chelsea had found it difficult to breath and was put back in the hospital on Friday afternoon but was released on Sautrday.  Yesterday, ( Sunday) she still wasn't feeling her best and decided to go lay down for a nap.

Sadly, her Mom went in to check on her a short while later and found her not breathing and unresponsive.

It has crushed this family to lose someone we love so suddenly in a time when we thought we had been given a chance to be rejoicing once again  after having suffered the recent loss of the family matriarch and loving glue that held this family together.

Chris Parker Ward and her husband David will forever make sure that little Parker Quinn knows how much she was loved by her Mommy  but we also know there are surgeries and care needed for Parker in the days to come.

Many of my friends have asked " what can we do" ...let us do something... please!  My only thought is that this site might allow you to help give the gift that will "keep on giving" as they face these next chapters with Parker's care.

I love you for caring...... and for asking what you can do ....please continue to hold this family up in prayer as they do their best to remain steady in their faith in the days to come.
