“I’m sorry, but you have stage 3 cancer”…those are words nobody wants to hear…especially for a loved one…Unfortunately that became Jeanette's reality 3 months ago.
Jeanette has been sick for about 2 years and finally decided to go to the doctor when she had a few days vacation from work. After biopsies, blood work and numerous scans, the doctor concluded that she has stage 3 anal cancer. Since her diagnosis Jeanette has started chemo and daily radiation. She has absolutely no energy to do anything. She has been in and out of the ER due to fevers and blood clots.
Jeanette has taken care of many throughout her life..including helping to raise her two grandchildren, Christian and Brooklyn. She has dedicated nearly 20 years of her life here at Thee Catering Company and Thee Coffee House, formerly Craven Coffee House, as well as Flounders Seafood restaurant while it was in business. She is a dedicated, talented, hard working beautiful human being. She is treasured by everyone here at Thee Catering Company and Thee Coffee House, and most importantly, her customers.
Jeanette is such a joy to work with! She asks for nothing yet she is the first one to help when anybody needs anything. And I mean ANYTHING. She has given her last dollar, she has opened up her home to those that needed a roof. Her customers not only come for our product, they come to enjoy daily conversations with Jeanette. She calls them by name, she asks about their families. She puts her heart into everything she does. With Jeanette not being able to work...the bills are piling up. Now it’s our turn to help her out.
Luckily Jeanette is living with a very good friend, Carrie, where she is able to heal and not worry about normal household bills. However, Jeanette still has a car payment, car insurance, phone bill and health insurance. It is our hope that we can all come together and help lighten that burden for Jeanette.
If you can donate even $5, we would greatly appreciate it. If not, please send prayers her way. She is too good not to win this battle. She is in good spirits and has high hopes, which we are all grateful for. Jeanette will be out of work for the next foreseeable months. She has quite a long road of chemo and radiation left as she just started this journey this past week.
She needs all of us right now. If you are a student/former student at Lenoir or Craven community college and wish to send her a card or words of encouragement, please drop them off at your coffee house in your college, she loves all of her “babies” as she likes to call them. If you're not from the colleges and have grown to love Jeanette through our Glenburnie location, you can bring them to our store at 1904 S Glenburnie Rd.
Please help spread the word and share this to all of your social media platforms so that we can reach all of those who's lives have been touched by Jeanette.
