As many may know, and some of you may not, my mom Jeanette Keaton-Plair has been suffering from chronic lung disease for the the past few years. Over these years her condition has progressed tremendously. My mom is no longer able to live on her own and requires a lot of assistance with everything due to her breathing conditions. My mom is restricted in activities and is required to use oxygen 24/7. The doctors have made us aware of her condition not being reversible. The only thing she wants at this time is being able to be more independent. This has been a very tough time for my mom, myself and my family, but we have remained positive and we know that we will get through it all.
Although a lung transplant is ideal and has been recommended by 2 pulmonologist, it is very lengthy and costly. The transplant center that we have been working with is Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. I have committed to being my mother's caregiver full time now and after the procedure.  There are many obstacles in the path ahead, including trips back and forth from Belle Glade, Florida to Jacksonville, Fl. Once we are ask to relocate, we are required to live 10 minutes away from the Mayo Clinic for about 3 months before the transplant and 3-6 months immediately after the procedure. I will not be able to work during this time. The out-of-pocket monthly cost will be astronomical. The anti-rejection medications are a must for her lifetime. With the cost being so high, we often think it's unconquerable, but I know we never have the last say so.

I come to you as humble as I can to help my mother see the light of faith again. I need your help reassuring that she still has a purpose and a reason to LIVE! I am not only asking for you to help her financially, but spiritually as well. You may not all be able to give anything, but even if you can send her prayers, scriptures, or even a few uplifting words, it all helps!
