Jeanette: Losing vision not faith

If you are here you know Jeanette and her amazing smile, or you know someone whose life was changed because of Jeanette’s generous and caring heart.  We are coming together to help Jeanette with a challenge she is facing in the coming months. 
Jeanette is slowly losing her sight due to a tumor pressing on her optic nerve.  She continues to have to go to the hospital, often daily, for treatments that include IV's, Dialysis, chemo and many other invasive procedures. Throughout the struggle with many medical complexities Jeanette continues to share her hope and encourage others. 
There is no current treatment to restore her sight, we are here to help her stay in her own home. She will need adjustments in her home, special technology, people to help her set up her home, and a variety of other things we have yet to think of. 

As an Occupational Therapist I know there are many ways to adapt a home for low vision but the faster we can adapt her home while she has sight, the easier it is to adjust as she continues to lose sight. We want to be able to walk alongside Jeanette and we need help to do this. Being able to purchase items such as adapted technology will allow her to engage with the world around her even as she loses vision. There are amazing advances in technology to help her “see” what is around her. Identifying colors, what is in a room, and audio adjustments for visual deficits will give Jeanette more freedom to care for herself in her own home. 

Right now Jeanette has to wear a patch over one eye to reduce the episodes and intensity of headaches that are debilitating. Things like driving, reading, working on a computer and other daily tasks that require vision will become harder. Will you come along side Jeanette and help us raise money to help her maintain her independence?
