Remembering Jeanne...
Jeanne Harvey, local entrepreneur, philanthropist, and owner of The Real Macaw restaurant in Naples, passed away March 15th, 2021 surrounded by friends and family.
Jeanne was a community trailblazer instrumental in the development and success of the Bayshore Arts District. After running hospitality ventures from Spain to the Virgin Islands to Cape Cod, she opened the Real Macaw in 1992. Her eclectic personality cultivated an equally diverse and enthusiastic clientele drawn to the escapist oasis she created with Key West-style cottages and award-winning food. Those fortunate to know her found a fast friend with a kind heart, larger than life personality, and a knack for making every moment full of fun and laughter. This exuberance was complemented by a Brooklyn girl’s self-assuredness and strength of character that enabled her to build and sustain a beloved business for almost 30 years. Her legacy continues at the Real Macaw and in the countless fond memories of her friends and customers.
Jeanne is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Siobhan and David, and her Yorkshire Terrier, Roxy.
A service in celebration of her exceptional life will be held at the Real Macaw at 3275 Bayshore Drive on Sunday, May 2nd, from 4-7pm.
It is with the greatest gratitude we thank you for your contribution and for joining us in remembering our incredible Mother and friend.
We love you, Jeanne!
-Siobhan, David, Roxy, and the Real Macaw Family
