Jeanne Ortiz's Funeral & Memorial Service
Jeanne "Tutu" Ortiz recently was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, a very rare but aggressive form of cancer in the bile duct, and it spread to her other organs (pancreas, liver, and gallbladder) as well. She was hospitalized for almost a week, but thankfully we could bring her home so she can be with family during her final days. We are grateful that she is on hospice care and can be comfortable here with her family until the Good Lord calls her Home to Heaven.
Tutu has suffered from advanced Dementia and Alzheimers, so my mom, Tamara, has taken care of her mom (my Tutu) for almost 15 years with no assistance financially. Tutu is a gentle soul who has always lived for today, but she never planned for her death. She has no insurance or burial plans, so we are beginning to figure out her final arrangements and expenses.
Anyone who knows my Tutu, Jeanne, knows just how much she loves life and everyone around her. We would like to hold a wake/service, have her buried near her Mama and Papa, and host a small celebration of life gathering. This is a very difficult time, and we are NOT the type of people who reach out for help. However, this is one time we need to.
With all this said, we cannot thank you all enough for the prayers and comfort, as we know that is what is getting us all through. Please continue to hold our family in your prayers. We are eternally grateful for everyone's love and support.
While we know times are tough for many, any and all help is greatly appreciated as we navigate this heartbreaking chapter in our lives and give her the celebration she deserves as our very last gift to her.
