Daddy's Medical Bills

I am organizing this on behalf of a family that is very dear to my heart.

I am Bola Oni, currently residing in southeast Calgary, Alberta, Canada, together with my husband, and two kids.

I am reaching out to you in a time of great distress following the unfortunate events surrounding my father's visit here in Canada. He and my mum arrived last year, with the purpose of meeting their grandchildren.

Tragically, on Feb 12, 2024, my father experienced difficulty in breathing and I had to take him to South Health Campus. On investigation, they discovered a laryngeal tumor was blocking his airways. He was urgently taken to operating room to relieve the pressure on his airways and then transferred to ICU.

Again, on Feb 25, he had another emergency episode on the unit due to bowel obstruction and they had to transfer him back to ICU. Our goal is to get my father stabled and then travel back to Nigeria to continue his treatments, but unfortunately our insurance has been exhausted.

The estimated costs for all the hospital expenses and travel back to Nigeria for cancer treatment is rising and currently over $200,000.

We are now confronted with a considerable financial burden, encompassing hospital bills for services not covered under his insurance, along with expenses related to this situation.

Given the gravity of our situation, we find ourselves in need of financial assistance to navigate through these difficult times. We need financial support for him to travel back to Nigeria and cover the cost of hospital bills not covered by insurance.
