Jeevan's Voice to Stop Suicide

Donation protected
Our 13-year old son Jeevan suddenly & unexpectedly took his own life on May 13, 2016. After numerous requests to help support the efforts of Jeevan's Voice we decided to use this quick & simple platform. This will allow family, friends & the community to help make a difference.

The primary focus & purpose of the Jeevan's Voice project is to raise awareness of lurking threat & danger of suicide. We have to remove the stigma associated with suicide. If we can't talk about it then we can't prevent it.

Had we known suicide was a real threat we would have discussed it without children. We talked about sex, drugs & alcohol, but never about suicide. We even talked about to cross the street safely without getting hit by a car, but never about suicide.

We'd like to tell parent's to have the SSAD talk with their kid's . SSAD stands for Sex, Suicide, Alcohol, Drugs.

Don't Decide on Suicide- Kid's need to be made aware of the challenge's of school, family, peer pressure, sports & life in general. But they must also be told suicide is never an option. They must be taught how to cope with life's adversity.

Parent's need to be taught how various parenting methods could be pushing their kid's to a possible suicide threat. Things like putting too much pressure on kid's is a big problem.

We'd like to create a series of short videos which can be used & shown by schools during orientations or assemblies. One video targeted for kids going into 6th grade, another for 8th grader's preparing to go into high school and a 3rd one for 9th grader's as they start high school. Each of these 3 critical times present different threats & pressures which must be addressed and dealt with head-on. Kid's must be told of the lurking pressures and what they can do to cope with them.

Suicide is a 100% preventable tragedy which can be stopped with preventative measures. The 1st step to talk openly about suicide & not make it such a taboo topic. Until we start talking about suicide we will keep losing innocent souls needlessly.

This is a general summary of what we'd like to accomplish through Jeevan's Voice. We'd like to share our story openly so we can prevent this tragedy from affecting another family.

In addition to these efforts we'd like to start the Jeevan's Voice Scholarship to be given to student's needing a push & encouragement to follow their non-traditional career aspirations such as art, music, theater, culinary, etc.

Thank for all the continued Love & Support of our friends, family & community. The ourpouring has truly been overwhelming. Rest assured that your contribution, regarless of the amount, will be put towards an admirable effort to save lives & families.

One Child Lost is One Child Too Many.
