Jeff Lawson - Stroke Relief Fund

As some of you know, our world changed forever when Jeff suffered a large stroke on February 10th in the left side of his brain. He survived a MER procedure to remove the blood clot, but the right side of his body is currently paralyzed, his speech is severely limited, and he has lost his ability do what he loves the most: play guitar.
Despite all this, Jeff’s will to live and get better has been astounding. He shocked everyone on day 3 when the nurse asked him what he wanted to drink, and he wrote, “Coke” on a white board. On Day 4 he picked up his phone, scrolled through Spotify, and played Pearl Jam’s newest single, “Dark Matter”. He keeps grabbing his paralyzed right hand with his left hand, stretching the fingers and moving the wrist. Though he can’t yet say his own name, we believe Jeff is already determined to play guitar again.
Once Jeff is healthy enough, he will need to transfer to an intensive inpatient rehabilitation center in order to regain everyday life skills. While insurance covers a portion of this, it doesn’t cover all, and Jeff may need a longer stay than they will cover. After he completes inpatient rehab, we don’t know how our home will need to be renovated to accommodate his needs or how long I will need to be out of work to care for him. He will also need a heart surgery to close the hole in his heart that they believe caused the stroke.
His kids and I are determined to get him the best care possible to aid his recovery, and we are requesting funds to help cover at least some initial expenses.
