Jeff Bingham Cancer Treatment and Care Fund

Hello!

My name is Ryan Bingham, Jeff is my dad. He's been battling throat cancer since last summer, he went through chemo and radiation at the tender age of 77. The photo was during the peak of his treatment when he insisted on voting in local elections despite being nauseous from chemotherapy treatment that same day.

We were thrilled when his cancer was found to be in remission in February. However, his recovery from treatment has been challenging to say the least. He suffered a collapsed lung during a biopsy, pneumonia, multiple infections, a fall in his home and currently a blood clot in his lung. These issues have led to multiple hospital stays, and over 60 days in a rehab facility in Northern Virginia. He is currently in the hospital fighting the blood clots as well as a UTI. The hope is he will move into a rehab facility for a few more months, and once he has regained strength move into an assisted living facility, possibly in his native Utah.

While he is fortunate to have good insurance as a result of being a lifelong public servant, the costs of rehab are only covered by insurance to a point, and he does not have long term health insurance.

A lifelong public servant, Jeff has served in the Senate and NASA, and he has three kids.

What savings he has is near-depleted, and this is why he has chosen this moment to humbly ask for help from colleagues, friends and loved ones. Any donation would be greatly appreciated by Jeff, our dad.

The funds would be used for:

1. Private pay nursing care in Northern Virginia (avg. $12,000 / month due to his feeding tube)

2. Medical bills

3. Digitization of a vast collection of documents and research from his career.

4. Moving and relocation costs

5. Ice cream when he gets his feeding tube removed, and can enjoy something sweet again.
