It is with the heaviest of hearts that we bid farewell to a remarkable man whose creative brilliance touched nearly every corner of the theater, entertainment, opera, dance and fashion worlds over the past 40 years. Jeff Fender, an incomparable fabric painter and moreover a true artist.

In memory of Jeff, we kindly invite you to join us in honoring his life and providing support during this time. Your generous contributions will help us cover the unforeseen expenses that have arisen due to Jeff's sudden passing and contribute to a meaningful celebration of life. Any assistance, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated as we come together to remember and celebrate Jeff Fender, for one final Christmas party for our Shug.

Jeff Fender worked with the best costume designers in the business, enhancing their designs even beyond their own imaginations. The list of costume designers he worked with is too long to properly credit but he often collaborated with Ann Roth, Suzy Benzinger, Gregg Barnes, Greg Gale, Paul Tazewell, Susan Hilferty, David Zinn, Ann Hould-Ward, Colleen Atwood, Sandy Powell and so many more. Jeff’s creations were no stranger to celebrities and touched the likes of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Bianca Del Rio, Bette Midler, and Madonna.

What made Jeff truly one of a kind was not just his extraordinary talent but his unwavering passion for his work and the community within it. He loved to laugh and have fun. He never took himself too seriously. The costume community was his New York family and he loved them all so much. In his memory, we celebrate his extraordinary life, his talent, and the indomitable spirit of creativity that he leaves behind.
