Jeff Hanzel's Recovery Fund

Hello everyone, my name is Paul Hanzel and I'm Jeff Hanzel's oldest kid. My dad was in a tragic accident and is currently hospitalized for what is likely to be a lengthy amount of time. As of today (October 9th) he is not yet conscious, but we hope for the best soon. He fell from more than 30 feet and landed on a pile of hardwood, causing multiple fractures, and damage to his internal organs. He has already had one surgery and will need multiple more in the short-term. Dad is likely to be in the hospital for quite some time. There is no estimate, but we're looking at weeks or months. His recovery will be even longer as he broke multiple bones in his face, shoulder, and possibly his neck and/or ribs. He's going to have to relearn many basic skills, and rehabilitation will be long.

If you know my father, you know he is one of the most selfless people out there. There are few that have a heart as big as his. He is always willing to help people, no matter the situation. He's constantly there for friends and family who need him. He's always keeping things light and jovial. Now it's our turn to help him.

My dad owns his own small business and is (as far as his kids know) uninsured. The hospital is taking great care of him and we will figure out the medical bill situation when the time comes. For now, we are doing what we can to take care of his ongoing bills, including his home and his dogs. If we are able to take care of those things for him, any extra funds will go towards medical bills, and a fund to hold him over while he goes through rehabilitation and gets back on his feet.
