Southwest Florida and indeed the galaxy recently lost a true icon. Jeff Hornsby was renowned for his remarkable kindness, compassion, and boundless generosity. To those who knew him, he was like a real-life superhero, living life to the fullest and embodying the spirit of characters like Rambo, Crocodile Dundee and comic book legend Aquaman.

Other than family and friends, his deepest passion lay in nature and animals. Jeff was a true outdoorsman, and his love for the natural world was unparalleled. He made Fort Myers, Florida, his home, and it was from this beautiful place that he drew his inspiration. Notably, he was married to Tammy Schreier-Hornsby, sharing his life’s adventures with her and their thousands of friends on social media with amazing pictures and videos of their exploits exploring nature’s hidden gems both near and far.

Within his community, Jeff’s selflessness, and unwavering dedication to creating a positive impact served as a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether he was spearheading community projects, generously volunteering his time, or simply offering a warm and welcoming smile, Jeff left an enduring imprint on the hearts of everyone he encountered. His legacy as a loving husband, a champion of nature, and a community hero will continue to inspire us all.
