Jeffrey Les Hovda, 55, passed away on February 7th, 2019. He is missed by his wife Scarlett, 2 beautiful daughters and many family and friends.
From Jeff's big sister:
When I think of my brother Jeff the 1st thing that comes to my mind is his love of family. He cherished the time we spent together. He lit up a room with his hearty laugh. He loved his girls Hailey and Kaitlyn so much and was so proud of the young ladies they have become.
Anyone who knew Jeff also knew of his passion for Minnesota Sports. We figure he is in heaven lobbying for a Twins and Vikings championship.
When Jeff’s good friend Mike Schwartz contacted me a couple months ago to talk about all the people that have reached out to him asking what they can do financially to help Scarlett and the girls I had mixed feelings. Jeff was never one to ask for help. He was always determined that he would provide for his family and would do anything for them, that being said, I know how important it was for him to get the girls through college. The idea of a scholarship fund seemed like a good fit to me.
Hailey will be a a sophomore at University of Georgia in the fall. She is studying Sports Medicine. Hailey is such a motivated young lady and loves to be involved. She joined a sorority this year and is very active within her sorority. She was also involved with Miracle Network and raised money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She is also very involved with her neighborhood church in Woodstock.
Kaitlyn will be a freshman at Kennesaw State University in the fall. She has a passion for teaching and will be starting an education major. Kaitlyn loves children and wants to be a 3rd grade teacher. She volunteered at the neighborhood grade school as a teacher's helper this past school year. She will be an amazing teacher.
Jeff always was and will continue to be a big part of our life. He will be with his girls every step of the way. Making sure they both go to college will bring joy to everyone who loves my brother and his beautiful family.
Thank you for helping carry out Jeff and Scarlett’s dream!!!!
