Jeff Joslyn is a firefighter/paramedic for Seguin Fire Department.
On Saturday, May 26th, 2018 Jeff's dad, Mitch Crisp, and two little brothers, Tommy (13) and Joey(15), were in a car accident. Unfortunately Jeff's dad did not make it but his brothers were pulled out of the car and are currently in two different hospitals in Austin, TX.
Tommy was sitting up front and broke both of his femurs and have a few third degree burns on his arms from the accident. He is at Dells Children’s Hospital. He had surgery on both of his legs on May 27 and is recovering.
Joey was in the back seat and has some extensive injuries to his abdomen from the seat belt. Joey is at St. David’s South Austin Hospital. On Saturday evening/Sunday morning Joey had surgery to fix an aortic tear but they were not able to fix everything in this surgery. He was in recovery awaiting further surgeries. They have since had a surgery to reconstruct his bowel and clean up his abdomen and hopefully close up his abdomen.
Both young men still have a long road ahead of recovery. The entire family has a long road of recovery and healing after such a sudden and tragic event.
As of the his time, funeral arrangements for Jeff's father have not been finalized. The family is trying to focus on the health and recovery of Tommy and Joey.
The brothers and sisters of the Seguin Fire Department have all come together as firefighter families do to help with shift coverage and emotional support. As we all know, financial difficulties during times of tragedies can be overwhelming. We are asking for fellow brothers and sisters in the firefighter community to donate whatever they can to assist in relieving some of the immediate financial burdens to Jeff and his family.
