Jeff & Laura Egge - Hit by Ambulance in Blaine
Donation protected
On July 22nd, 2023, an Allina Ambulance was traveling northbound on Highway 65 in Blaine, MN with lights and sirens activated in the course of their duties. The staff in the ambulance was canceled en route while entering the left turn lane for 109th Ave. The staff received another call for service, activated their lights and sirens, and attempted to make a right turn to go eastbound on 109th Ave. The ambulance struck the Harley Davidson that was traveling northbound, causing it to come into contact with the Honda Odyssey, slide northeast, and make contact with a Subaru Forester. Both riders of the Harley Davidson were transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center via ambulance. (per MN Crash Report)
Both Jeff and Laura were brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, Laura's injuries became far more severe as time went on as her brain increasing kept swelling which resulted in brain death. The hospital tried everything they could do to reduce the swelling but unfortunately, nothing had helped or worked. She was pronounced dead on Tuesday, July 25th.
Jeff's health has been on a very slow but hopeful incline. He came in with many life-threatening injuries but due to the amazing medical team, he has been doing good but still has a long, long road of recovery ahead of him.
Please donate to help Jeff on his road to recovery, any hospital bills that may incur from all of this, any bills that may be due while he is in the hospital, post hospital care, and everything in between.
Words cannot describe the pain and difficulty Jeff may face when actually waking up and realizing his wife of 21 years passed away due to this extremely tragic situation.
Any support is graciously appreciated by his family and I'm sure Jeff when he wakes up.
