Jeff Martell's Fight Against Cancer

After many months of doctor’s visits, lab work, x-rays, and other tests, on November 30, 2022, Jeff Martell learned that he has cancer. Jeff had been experiencing nerve pain and headaches for months, causing him to lose many nights of sleep and affecting his daily life. Moving forward, doctors remain perplexed about the origin of the cancer. Jeff continues to experience tests to ascertain the type of cancer he is experiencing.

Through these many months of dealing with the unknown, Jeff, his wife, Marcia, and his children, Luke (16) and Natalie (13), have persisted in trusting God and leaning on Christ for hope and strength.

Jeff has been a pastor in the Akron, Ohio area for over 25 years, at The Chapel and Grace Church of Greater Akron. Jeff’s ministry has impacted countless families and individuals across the area. It is now our opportunity to have an impact on him and his family to demonstrate our love and care.

Jeff continues to meet with oncologists at area hospitals to determine the course of treatment. Marcia accompanies him to those appointments and has taken leave from work to be available. The Martells anticipate a costly treatment with out-of-pocket expenses. In addition, Marcia’s leave from work will affect their budget for daily expenses.
