I am running the Kiawah Marathon one month from today.

While I am doing this to prove to myself that I can, I also wanted to do so in honor of my brother that I lost too young, that would likely have already run 5 marathons if he put his mind to it.

Many marathons are fundraising opportunities - Kiawah isnt really one of them. However, I wanted to take the opportunity to set up my own Go Fund Me to raise money for the incredible Scholarship Fund that my parents started in my brothers honor when we lost him in 1995.

I was only 10 years old, Matt was 12, and Jeff was 15. Following our loss, my parents created the Jeff Morin Memorial Scholarship fund. They awarded scholarships to graduating Nashua High School students for many years. When my parents eventually moved, we began donating Scholarship money to the City of Nashua, NH. Nashua now has Jeff's Park (Roby park where we always went sledding as kids). So many people send me pictures of their kids playing there and it is so amazing to see. Many childrens sports in Nashua have Jeff's name and Valedictorian Quote. I will get a random photo from someone with their child in one of these shirts now and then, and it means the world to me. The 4th of July event in Nashua is also sponsored by the Scholarship Fund.

When I was young, I "helped" my parents with so many fundraising events. Jeff's Run, Jeff's Golf Tournament, Jeff's Craft Fair - but I realized, I have never independently raised money for this cause and for his honor.
