It was with an anguished heart that Heidi shared the news her loving husband Jeff passed away on 3-18-21. What quickly followed was an avalanche of tributes about what a wonderful husband, father, and friend Jeff was. He was approachable, thoughtful, genuine, kind, and eternally optimistic.

Heidi is such a wonderful mother that it was no surprise it was her boys that were on her mind when she shared through her shattered heart that "I have to stay strong for my boys, as they have lost the most incredible mentor and friend."

As a Father, Heidi also shared about Jeff:

Jeff was the most devoted dad. When our daughter Lauren was going through cancer treatments at the age of 2 1/2, it was Jeff who laid in the MRI machine with her, holding her hand as his little girl battled cancer bravely. After losing Lauren, Jeff was heartbroken, but it was Jeff that convinced me after 5 years, we were great parents and needed to have another child. He was so right!  Caleb and Conner completed our family.  Jeff was the kind of dad every child deserves to have.  He was their Cub Scout leader, football and baseball coach, and #1 hockey fan. He loved photographing the boys and their friends in action. I believe he will forever be guiding and cheering the boys on. His joy came from making others feel special.  To watch Jeff wrap gifts for others was something unreal, and anyone who was lucky enough too unwrap a package from him knows just how much thought he put into the smallest details.

He was the dad who built a dirt track in the backyard when the boys learned to ride their bikes, and a few years later, he cleared the backyard to put in a baseball diamond, and when hockey became their passion, he turned our finished basement into a giant shooting pad. This past summer he worked with the boys to build a Man Shed from the ground up, teaching the boys the basics of construction. He would be dog tired at the end of a long hot workday yet he would never say no when the boys wanted to go fishing or play a round of golf.  If the boys had a school project, they knew they could count on dad to help them create something over the top extraordinary.  He was nothing short of an AMAZING dad and husband."

It's clear that the world would be a much better place if we all strived to be a little more like Jeff!

May his legacy live on through his two amazing sons, who are just as kind, loving, and wonderful as him. It was in this spirit, the Jeff Pickett Legacy Fund was created in loving benefit of his adored sons, Caleb and Conner. May Jeff rest in peace, knowing there is a village of family and friends, ready to rally behind his two incredible sons (and Heidi) as they navigate forward without him.

I can’t stress this enough - it will be so incredibly hard for Heidi to accept this help. She's so incredibly selfless. So, let’s hold this family, who has done so much for others, up and do what we can to ease financial burdens at this time.
