In November 2002, Charles Town, West Virginia, was shaken by the murder of Jeffrey Lewis Rowland, a beloved fourth-grade teacher Wright-Denny Elementary School. Found along the serene C&O towpath, Jeff’s story is one of mystery, unresolved questions, and a plea for justice that has echoed for over two decades. Today, this case remains open, with few answers and little closure for those who knew and loved Jeff.

I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to fund a comprehensive Public Information Act (Maryland's version of the Freedom of Information Act) request for all records related to Jeff’s case. As a writer, my goal is to delve deep into the intricacies of this case, share Jeff’s story with the world, and hopefully contribute to finding the closure that has been long overdue.

Most recently I investigated the murder of Amelia Wilson. It's this conviction that now compels me to uncover and share the story of Jeff Rowland, whose life was tragically cut short over two decades ago in circumstances that remain a mystery.
