Jeff Stearns' Recovery

Donation protected
Hello, dearest friends, families, and community members. This is Dan Twelker and Hannah Levin, friends of Jeff Stearns.

Last Tuesday night, Jeff had an electric scooter crash that resulted in significant injuries. Jeff was found unconscious on the pavement and transported to the UA Banner University Medical Center emergency room and then intensive care unit. He experienced a severe blow to the upper left forehead and suffered an associated brain bleed, which has been controlled. There were multiple facial fractures and three broken ribs, all on the left side.

At the time of writing this, Jeff is still in the hospital. We believe that he will be released soon to a rehabilition facility to further his healing and recovery. It will be quite a while before he will be able to work as before.

Jeff could use some help to pay rent, utilities, and the basic costs of living, perhaps for several months. Jeff has health insurance but there could be extra costs due to deductibles, medications, and associated treatments. We are hopeful Jeff will make a full recovery but it could take some significant time.

You have likely seen Jeff around at local music shows many, many times over the years. He's a passionate supporter of local arts (and let's be honest, also local food of the fried variety), a deeply engaged thinker who cares a great deal about the Tucson community, and a loyal friend to many of us. To be frank, Jeff will likely be cross with us for launching this campaign but we have the full support of his family and there is no question that he will dearly need our collective assistance. Thank you in advance for your contribution; we promise to keep everyone as updated as possible as Jeff's recovery progresses.
