Jeff's Journey to a New Heart

At the young age of 39, Jeff suffered from a massive heart attack.  Miraculously, he survived, but not without irreversible heart damage.  Fast forward 22 years later and his ticker is running out of time.  Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, has been keeping him stable for many years, but his heart function has now dropped to critical levels.  So critical that he needs a heart transplant. Along this journey, it was discovered that the best chance for him to get a heart is at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ.  There are many hurdles to jump over to actually get placed on the transplant list.  Everything from medications, to test after test after test, to ultimately having a PICC line placed in his arm providing a direct line of constant medication to his heart. Most recently, after an outpatient visit to Phoenix (that turned into a very scary inpatient visit), Jeff is officially on the heart transplant list!  With this comes many obstacles, and my hope is to alleviate as much of the medical, travel, and living expenses for my parents as possible by creating this fundraiser.
