When our friend Jeff Pelc underwent a colonoscopy this fall, doctors found a large malignant tumor. During surgery to remove the tumor, surgeons explored Jeff’s abdomen and found that scans had missed tumors on Jeff’s liver. The doctors stopped the operation and delivered the devastating news – that the cancer was classified as stage 4.
The surgeon was confident that after intense chemotherapy and targeted therapy Jeff could undergo another operation to remove portions of his colon and liver that contained the tumors.
During the fall Jeff had the chemotherapy and the targeted therapy to shrink the tumors and destroy the remaining cancer cells in his blood. We were happy to hear that on Christmas Eve Jeff was given the news that he had made enough progress that several surgeries – one to remove part of the colon and then one to remove part of the liver – can be scheduled. This is a great gift, but Jeff has a long way to go and more chemotherapy may be necessary.
Rosanne and Jeff have given many of us the blessing of a wonderful and loyal friendship. NOW THEY NEED OUR HELP.
Jeff has been unable to work and will remain unable to work for the near future, and his disability will end in a few short months. Rosanne is an accountant for a medical supply company and working hard to maintain home expenses, medical expenses and the costs of raising two children. Tommy recently graduated from high school and attends school in hopes of having a career in law enforcement. Mary is a junior in high school and looking forward to attending college. Jeff’s ongoing medical treatments are expensive and not all covered by insurance.
Please join us in making life a little easier for our friends Jeff and Rosanne Pelc. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Mary Ann and Bob Victor
